Following a recent round of high-level advocacy meetings with core group member countries to the Geneva Declaration on Armed Violence and Development, EWI Vice President and Task Force Chair Ortwin Hennig was invited to the signatories’ upcoming meeting in Geneva on July 4 to present EWI’s Task Force initiatives. The UN Group of Friends for Conflict Prevention made a similar request to the Task Force and hosted an information meeting in New York on July 7 for this purpose. Yale University’s World Fellows program hosts the fourth Task Force core group meeting in New Haven CT, USA in mid-April.
Advocacy meetings undertaken immediately following this meeting underscore how the Task Force is increasingly gaining momentum with key international stakeholders.
